In celebration of Elvis’s birthday, we go to Chuy’s each and every year. Actually if they don’t see us at least once a week, the waitress said they would call.
Of course the husband always gets the Elvis Fried Chicken. That is a chicken breast flatted out, dipped in crushed Lay’s potato chips, deep fried, and served with green chili sauce and cheddar cheese. That is served with (in my opinion) the best refried beans on this planet and green chili rice. He usually orders it with some queso in addition and some flour tortillas on the side. The tortillas are made right in the restaurant, and you can watch them being made. They are the best!
I have tried everything on the menu, and you can’t go wrong with anything. My favorite is the shrimp taco’s, on the wheat tortillas. They have a Jalepeno Ranch dressing that we swear….well we call it “Crack Jalepeno Ranch”. You just want a quart of it with a straw!
On Elvis’s birthday, Elvis usually makes at least one appearance at each store, and usually 2 visits. They have Elvis/Chuy t-shirts for sale along with some freebie give aways. Don’t forget to check out the regular Chuy’s t-shirts too!
Get there before the Twinkies are gone!
Thank you…Thank you very much…

Sherry - This looks and sounds like a really fun time and I am a Elvis fan!
Roy- No, I couldn't believe it! (They didn't put me in charge darn it!)I would have had fried Twinkies with a peanut-fried banana sauce to make you swoon! But it is so rare anyone has room for dessert anyway...
Robert- Each Chuys has a little shrine to Elvis...
Hey that's right, today is Elvis' B-day. Long live your tradition in celebrating the king's birth!
Sherry
Nothing like lunch with "The King". The restaurant sounds very inviting too!
Hi Sherry,
We had an Elvis Impersonator come to our Women's Council of Realtors December Installation Banquet. Our new President for 2009 loves him. Oh, she comes out of her Southern Baptist role and just go nuts. Here is a little video that I got of her. Who knew? She loved him and still does.
Warning, this Elvis could not sing. LOL

My Gawd that sound delicious! Can you send me a doggie bag?Pleeeeeeeez:)!!!
Gary-I am all about good food! It's one of my favorite TEX-MEX spots for new clients.
Trish-I would love to! They ought to bottle the Crack Japeleno Ranch. OMG! My niece always wants the Queso and some tortilla's. Just can't get it on the plane!
I am so hooked on Chuy's and always order the Chicken Chili Rellenos! And that "crack" jalapeno ranch dressing. I got tired of having to take some home and just make my own now! Only I add extra fresh garlic and an avacado! Gilding the elvis lilly sorta...
Russell-Those are so good too! Yes, I occasionally make our own "Jap Crack"dressing too...I just don't cook much, and hey..they already have their's ready!
Be sure to make it out January 8th 2010. I am Texas Elvis and I am also a Professional Home Inspector, of TCBISPECTIONS.COM, and of course my show this year will be at Barton Springs Chuy's and the one on Mopac and William Cannon.
